Golden Hut to Hut
Hiking from hut to hut in the Esplanade range of the Selkirk mountains near Golden BC is a delight. With four huts spaced a days walk from each other the whole length of the esplanade, we will see a new section each day. We’ll carry light packs with personal items only as each lodge is fully equiped to keep us well fed and comfortable.
Backcountry Ski Touring
We look forward to spending the week together with you and exploring the amazing ski terrain that Selkirk Lodge has to offer!
Canoe Tripping
Wildfire season
It seems these days that August is hit and miss on whether or not we will have wildfire smoke drifting through our mountains and into our communities.
While summer 2019 had regular rainfall and cooler temperatures to suppress wildfires, the previous few summers (2017/18!) had me wondering if I’d ever see the sun.
Fortunately wildflowers still grab my attention and still look glorious when I’m out hiking on smokey days. The mountains take on unique hues, and I can still have fun. I hope its not the new normal, but at least if it is, wildflower views like this make a small consolation.
